Hands From Heaven Puppet Ministry
The Puppet Ministry is a servant ministry and we always work "behind the scenes". The Puppet Team theme verse is Colossians 3:23 (NIV) - "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord., not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
We want to share scriptural truths with folks in this fun and unique way. We choose skits, songs, or musicals because of their message. It is our desire to reflect the love of Jesus to everyone, in all that we do.
Team Philosophy ~ Hands From Heaven puppeteers will show respect for each other; will exhibit excellence in performance of all puppetry skills to the best of our ability; and always strive to learn more and to do better.
Our Puppet Team stays quite busy. We train every Sunday afternoon and this is a big commitment for busy students. Our team is primarily middle and high school students, with some college students joining us for special events. We covet your prayers as we seek to serve in this ministry.
Puppet Ministry Guidelines
1. Puppetry Season begins in September and ends in
June after Mission Tour. New puppeteers are accepted
into the puppet team each September. We ask puppeteers
to commit to a full season. *There will be occasional
performance times during Summer which will be addressed
individually because of family obligations.
2. Puppet Team rehearsals currently are held each Sunday afternoon from 4:30 until 5:00. There are occasional dress rehearsals before a big event. You will be notified in advance of these practices. Rehearsals will be canceled by the director only when absolutely necessary. Equipment usually needs to be set up before rehearsal and members may be asked to arrive early from time to time in order to assist in this activity. Puppeteers are responsible for assisting in clean up activities before they leave.
Any puppeteer who has to miss a rehearsal or performance for any reason is asked to notify the puppet directors as far in advance as possible. This enables us to more effectively plan each rehearsal. Absences may result in limited participation in performances and/or suspension from the team.
3. Our Tools: Puppeteers are expected to act responsibly
at all times. The puppets and props are not toys. They are
the tools we use to minister.
4. Each puppeteer must have an appropriate Christian attitude
with teammates, directors, and those that we work with.

Thanks to many Puppet Ministry leaders I have spoken with via the internet who have been inspirational for the creation of this website, various training materials and helps, and encouragement for the continuation of this ministry.
